Homemade Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

Mix well and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for one hour.

Ingredients:


2 pounds ground turkey

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

2 dried bay leaves

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (more or less to taste)

1 teaspoon sugar (more or less to taste)

coarse salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste

1 16 oz Spaghetti, cooked

Instructions:


  • In a large stock pot, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and sauté until golden brown. Add chopped onions and garlic and sauté until translucent. Mix well and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for one hour. Stir often and add salt and pepper as needed. Once complete remove and discard bay leaves.
  • Serve over prepared spaghetti noodles and enjoy!

While the sauce is simmering, cook one 16-ounce package of spaghetti noodles according to package instructions. Once the sauce has cooked for an hour, remove and discard the bay leaves and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve the sauce over the prepared spaghetti noodles and enjoy!
