Homemade Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

Homemade Turkey Spaghetti Sauce is perfect for a fresh, light, and healthy weeknight meal. It’s nice to have an uncomplicated and quick recipe for spaghetti sauce that is homemade and not from a jar. Anyone can make this and I hope you give it a try, and love it. Add more spices if you’d like or keep it mild, this is a great simple sauce to build on.

I’ve added mushrooms which of course are always optional if your littles don’t like them. I’ve also used crushed tomatoes for the littles who also don’t like chunky tomatoes. :) All in all, this is a win recipe for the pickiest of eaters. Serve topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese, and a crisp garden salad for a healthy balanced meal, (and a glass of wine would be nice, too)!

Here Is How To Make It

In a large stock pot, add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and sauté until golden brown. Add chopped onions and garlic and sauté until translucent. Add the white wine, increase the heat and bring to a boil, stir well, then lower heat and rapidly simmer until white wine is reduced by half.

Increase the heat to medium and add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms, fresh parsley, garlic powder, garlic salt, italian seasonings, bay leaves, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Mix well and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for one hour. Stir often and add salt and pepper as needed. Once complete remove and discard bay leaves. Serve over prepared spaghetti noodles and enjoy!
