In the early twentieth century Chicken Divan became the signature dish served at the Divan Parisien Restaurant in New York City. Created by Chef Lagasi, Chicken Divan has become known as the classic American casserole, and indeed one of my favorite old fashioned comfort foods. Broccoli Chicken Divan Casserole, weeknight goodness your family is sure to love.

Here Is How To Make It

Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium mixing bowl combine, cream of chicken soup, mayonnaise, lemon juice, curry powder, salt and pepper. Mix together and set aside.

Place cooked broccoli in your favorite 13×9-in. casserole dish, sprinkle a little bit of shredded cheese over the broccoli. Layer with cooked chicken, and sprinkle with a little more cheese.

Pour cream of chicken soup mixture over the top, and finish by covering with the remaining cheddar cheese.

Bake uncovered at 350° for 25-35 minutes or until bubbling. Served over rice. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken breasts cooked and diced into cubes
  • 2 heads of fresh broccoli chopped and cooked (cook for about 2-2 ½ minutes in microwave and drain)
  • 1 family size can 22.6 oz condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of curry powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • Prepared white rice for serving

Instructions
