Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies: A Delicious and Healthy Treat
Who doesn’t love a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie straight out of the oven? Unfortunately, traditional cookies are often loaded with refined sugar and white flour, making them a less than healthy indulgence. But fear not, because these almond flour chocolate chip cookies are a healthier alternative that still satisfy your sweet tooth!
Made with just a few simple ingredients, these cookies are easy to make and come together quickly. The almond flour gives them a nutty, buttery flavor that pairs perfectly with the chocolate chips. Plus, almond flour is a great gluten-free option for those with dietary restrictions.
To get started, you’ll need to cream together the butter and sugar in a medium bowl until smooth. Then, beat in the egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix together the almond flour, baking soda, and salt, and then add it to the butter mixture. Stir until everything is well blended, and then fold in the chocolate chips. Chill the batter for 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.
When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350° degrees and prepare your baking sheet with either a non-stick foil or parchment paper. Using a teaspoon or small ice cream scooper, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart. Bake for about 11 minutes, or until the cookies are slightly golden brown around the edges.
Once they’re done, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. These cookies are best served once they’ve had a chance to set, so try to resist the urge to dig in right away!
Not only are these almond flour chocolate chip cookies delicious, they’re also a healthier option for those looking to indulge in a sweet treat. With no refined sugar or white flour, you can enjoy them without the guilt. Plus, the almond flour adds a dose of protein and healthy fats to your snack, making them a great option for a mid-day pick-me-up or after-dinner dessert. Give them a try and see for yourself just how tasty healthy can be!
