Sugar Cookies


Sugar cookies are a classic dessert that never goes out of style. Ingredients:


2 ½ cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 ¼ cups unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

2 eggs

2 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Extra granulated sugar for decoration

Instructions:


  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix ingredients together until well combined, set aside.
  • In a large bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until incorporated, add the vanilla, mix well.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Cover and chill batter for 1 hour.
  • Using a teaspoon scoop out a small amount of dough and roll in the palm of your hand into a ball, then roll in the extra sugar, and place on cookie sheet to bake.
  • Bake for approximately 10 minutes, pulling cookies out when they are slightly golden brown around the edges, cool and enjoy.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients that you set aside earlier, stirring until everything is combined. Once the dough is mixed, cover it and chill it for 1 hour.


After the dough has chilled, it’s time to start forming the cookies. Using a teaspoon, scoop out a small amount of dough and roll it in the palm of your hand to form a ball. Then, roll the ball in extra granulated sugar to give it a little extra sweetness and decoration. Place the ball on a cookie sheet and repeat this process until you have used up all of your dough.
