Homestyle Apple Pie Recipe

- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter , cubed
- 1 egg white + 1 teaspoon of water , whisk together to make an egg wash
- 1 prepared pastry for double-crust pie , 9-inch
- Flour to roll out pie crust
